SIR MICHAEL STOUTE'S St Leger curse could have struck again, after his sole entry in the final Classic of the year, Arabian Gulf, was ruled out of his prep race in tomorrow's Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes with an infection.

The Chester Vase runner-up has not been seen out since that race three months ago, in which he was caught on the post by subsequent Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune.
