Aug. 18--The men, women and children who seek medical care at Olabisi Claudius-Cole's small West African clinic have never seen artificial knees or hips. Many come to her with serious orthopedic problems, even missing limbs, their bodies ravaged by Revolutionary United Front rebels who waged a 10-year war that ended in 2002 in the impoverished country.
Claudius-Cole runs the private 21-bed hospital and clinic with her 82-year-old father, is also a doctor. The clinic rarely has more than two hours of electricity a day and no X-ray ...
