INTRODUCTION

Renewability, reduced wear on processing equipment, low specific gravity, and low cost are the main advantages of natural fibers (nonwood and wood fibers) over traditional reinforcing materials, which contributed to the rapid growth of natural fiber-plastic composites production. Despite some unsolved problems regarding poor compatibility between hydrophilic natural fibers and hydrophobic polymer matrices, natural fiber-plastic composites found many applications in automotive sector, building, and construction [1-5].
