Aug. 7--PECOS Soon, pilots coming into Pecos will have less to worry about in bad weather conditions.
"They won't have to rely on forecasts out of Wink or Midland," Pecos Municipal Airport manager Isabelle Blanchard said. "Our weather, as close as we are to the mountains, is quite different than that of Midland."
Starting Aug. 20, the airport will become one of five in the area to receive Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts from the National Weather Service.
