Namaqualand blooms again - and it's one of the best flower displays in years.(News)

Spring has sprung in Namaqualand and tens of thousands of flowers are blanketing the area.

Namaqualand's famed floral explosion is peaking early after heavy rains brought on the biggest and most varied display of flowers in 10 years.

Every year between August and October visitors flock to the Northern Cape to see fields of flowers in bloom, but this year they are in for a real treat, locals say.

The heavy rains have led to the best blooms they will get to see in a long time.
