Colombia has been plagued by guerrilla insurgency for 47 years, with the National Liberation Army and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia fighting for control. New Pres Ernesto Samper hopes to make peace but the rebel life has been very lucrative for the guerrillas.
