MARLBORO - Mosquitoes from a pool close to where a dead blue jay infected with West Nile virus was found last week have also tested positive for the sometimes fatal virus.

Timothy D. Deschamps, executive director of the Northboro-based Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project, said the area was to be sprayed between 9 p.m. and midnight yesterday.

The state Department of Public Health confirmed last Thursday that a dead blue jay collected on July 24 was infected with West Nile virus, the first case in the state this year. Mr. Deschamps ...
