Asset management company Oasis Group Holdings has withdrawn its civil action against Cape High Court judge Siraj Desai and has offered to pay his legal costs.

When they sued him in 2001, Oasis wanted Desai to apologise for defaming them, and to do this via full-page newspaper adverts.

But yesterday it was the company, at a cost of tens of thousands of rands, which placed full-page adverts in three national weekend papers announcing that it had also dropped its constitutional court application which challenged legislation saying a divisional judge ...
