Cape Town - The written offer to buy building materials retailer Iliad Africa was most likely to have come from a private equity player, according to Old Mutual Investment Group SA (Omigsa) portfolio manager Brian Pyle.
Pyle said last week there had been a history of private equity interest in Corpbuild before Iliad, which also owns the Knob & Knocker and Just Tiles chains, acquired it in 2003.
