The Pembroke Meadows Civic League will hold its firs t National Night Out Against Crime observance Aug. 7.

N ational Night Out is a 24-year-old crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. More than 34 million people participated in last year's event around the country.
