YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio -- Antioch College President Steve Lawry plans to resign at the end of the year, citing the school's decision to close next summer, the college announced Thursday.

Antioch, a private liberal arts college known for its social activism and creative approach to education, earlier this month announced that it intends to suspend operations in July 2008. School officials want to restructure the school, upgrade facilities and reopen in 2012.
