This new study intrigued my professional expertise because of a lack of topical care for post radiation skin damage. This study confirms that tea extracts applied topically promotes the repair of skin damaged by radiotherapy, and shed light on the mechanisms involved. The beneficial effects of the extracts stem largely from an ability to attenuate pro-inflammatory signals.
