WORCESTER - The light pole that fell over at the year-old Worcester Technical High School athletic fields in late winter appears to have had a flaw in its manufacturing or design, according to an engineering report.
The pole that fell was 90 feet tall, and within weeks contractors intentionally knocked over another with a bulldozer and removed a third with a crane, both as preventive measures after finding cracks on those poles. A fourth 90-foot pole is still standing, as are four 80-foot poles and three 60-foot poles.
