John Isaac Hale Jr. of Norton, formerly of North Attleboro, a World War II veteran and retired electrical engineer, died Sunday at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. He was 86.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Hale was raised in Portsmouth, N.H. He lived in Union City, Calif., and Severna Park, Md., before moving to North Attleboro, where he lived for 14 years. He moved to Norton five years ago.

He graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1949 with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.
