Hanover chooses CFO; Financial expertise lands Leahy the job.(BUSINESS)

WORCESTER - The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. yesterday hired John J. Leahy of Weston as executive vice president and chief financial officer, turning to a veteran finance executive to replace outgoing CFO Edward J. Parry III.

Mr. Parry announced in February he would leave the property and casualty insurer after a 15-year career to pursue other jobs.

In tapping Mr. Leahy, Hanover Chief Executive Frederick H. Eppinger turns to an executive with a background in business planning and finance but no experience in the insurance sector.…
