WORCESTER - As Hussam Sara awaited the start of the ceremony that would make him a naturalized U.S. citizen yesterday morning, he said he was eager to realize his longtime dream.
"I always wanted to be a U.S. citizen," said Mr. Sara, a Palestinian immigrant and Boston resident.
Mr. Sara, who arrived in the United States in 2000, was among 694 permanent residents who took their oath yesterday in a ceremony at Mechanics Hall that served as the final step in the process of becoming U.S. citizens. The new citizens are from a total of 94 countries, ...
