NOT many Italian-flagged vessels come this way these days - apart from a handful of containerships and an MSC cruiseliner during the summer. But the weekend arrival of Anastassis (formerly the Italian liner Victoria) evoked nostalgia among ship-spotters, partly because she represents a class of ship that once was the backbone of the Trieste-based Lloyd Triestino fleet, and also because she will not return to Cape Town.
