The international press has dubbed us YAPs ("Young Americans in Prague"). The cheap cost of living, the many job opportunities, and the electric atmosphere have attracted tens of thousands of young Americans and other Westerners since the 1989 revolution. Relatively rich, Westerners in Prague can afford to live in the center of town, use the excellent public transport system, wander through the teeming streets. In Prague you don't see the beggars that have become so familiar in the doorways of cities both west and east of here. It is safe to walk around town at night.…
