Other halobutyl rubber cure systems
Alternatives to TMTD accelerated curing in halobutyl rubber: Nitrosamines result when curing with TMTD and its use is not recommended. However, TBzTD or its zinc derivative, ZBEC with a sulfenamide accelerator such as CBS can readily match the compound properties of TMTD. Magnesium oxide may be added to assist in controlling scorch and cure rate.
