RESUMEN La creación del Estado nacional brasileño, en consonancia con la regulación del cuerpo sexuado y racializado, fue sustentado por el aparato ideológico de la corporación médica. En este artículo se aborda cómo la colonización del discurso médico, sobre todo en el período republicano, determinó las diferencias antagónicas sexo/género y la creación del sujeto homosexual como categoría y taxonomía patológica, sobredeterminado a su vez por las subordinaciones de raza y clase en tanto marcas de lo abyecto.
