Barring one of the greatest half-seasons ever put together by a major league batter, David Ortiz's power production for 2007 is going to wind up nosediving deeper than the price of a split-level in Shrewsbury.

So, Ortiz is human, too, and maybe all that is wrong with him is what Mike Lowell says, that the law of averages has caught up with Big Papi and nobody can be expected to come through every time the game is on the line.
