Early music--in particular Renaissance vocal or consort music--has had a particular fascination for visual artists of late. We might think of Mark Wallinger's use of Gregorio Allegri's Miserere or Janet Cardiff's appropriation of Thomas Tallis. Sonia Boyce has now turned her attention to another venerated composer of that period, Josquin Desprez, in a collaborative performance with the consort Alimare and the Greek-born sound artist Mikhail Karikis at the chapel of Magdalen College, Oxford.
