Jun. 24--In Albany this year it was a case of the irresistible force, namely Gov. Eliot Spitzer, colliding with the immovable object, namely the State Legislature. The result, in a word, was: splat.
Maybe expectations were just too high, but for a lot of Albany watchers, the first six months of the Spitzer administration has been a disappointment. As one wag put it recently: Spitzer has accomplished in six months what it took Mario Cuomo six years to do: -- everybody off....
