EASTHAM LODGE has been celebrating a special event - a husband and wife as captains at the same time.

The partnership was only for a couple of weeks as Shirley Mealing arrived in office as the 2007 lady captain as the club's 2006 captain Colin was about to leave at the end of his year.

"But it is unique, never happened before here," says Mrs. Mealing, who lives at Greasby, Wirral.

She worked as an accounts supervisor for a pharmaceutical company and after leaving full-time employment and looking for a part-time job she became office manager at Moreton Hills Golf ...
