As this issue goes to press in early May, New York's Armory Show art fair has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Chicago-based Merchandise Mart Properties, the property management company that also produces 300 trade shows annually and last year bought Art Chicago. The news was first leaked during the Chicago fair in late April. Armory spokesperson Pamela Doan told A.i.A. that a full acquisition is expected by late May. The agreement calls for Armory Show staff to become part of Merchandise Mart Properties' ...
