FORMER Lord Chief Justice Lord Woolf is to chair an ethics committee at under fire defence giant BAE Systems to scrutinise how the group conducts arms deals with foreign governments.
Lord Woolf is believed to have accepted the job, but an announcement has been held back until he recruits a heavyweight team from outside the company to join the panel.
It is thought Lord Woolf insisted on controlling appointments to the ethics watchdog to ensure their independence.
The committee will not look into historic arms deals though, focusing on current and future contracts only. ...
