Jun. 12--Florida's decades-old personal-injury protection law will likely cease to exist after Oct.1. With lawmakers caught up in property-tax debate, the no-fault insurance requirement looks as if it will fade into Florida history.

Responding to complaints about fraud, state legislators approved a "sunset" provision in 2003 that called for the law's repeal in 2007.
