In five brief chapters, the author discusses various aspects of the human figure in "Islamic Art;" dividing her subject matter geographically and historically. A first chapter deals with the "Arab world," from early Umayyad times to the Fatimids in Egypt, and includes a discussion of the Umayyad Caliphate of al-Andalus and the subsequent Ta'ifa period.
