Combining a 3D analog probing system with a "seamless" software package having powerful analytical capability is said to make it ideal for measuring complex airfoil shapes used in turbojet components.

The typical airfoil shape may be on a single blade, a vane, or in multiples such as nozzles and segments. Whatever the application, airfoils have certain common elements; leading edges, trailing edges, pitch, twist, warp angle, chord length and thickness. In addition to the standard elements, contour affects function and must be checked.
