WORCESTER - When astronomer and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York, wanted to establish his math and science credentials for Worcester Polytechnic Institute's graduating class, he pulled out his personal digital assistant and said it held pi to 11,500 decimal places.
"You never know when you'll need that information," he told the laughing crowd last weekend.
