22 MAY 2007 MANUKAU (Pacnews) ----Ratepayers in New Zealand will foot the bill to fly Manukau mayor Sir Barry Curtis to Rarotonga to address the Cook Islands' Cabinet on ways to pay for infrastructure such as new roads and sewerage reticulation.
Stuff NZ reports Botany councillor and Peoples Choice mayoral candidate Dick Quax was objecting to the Manukau City Council paying $2000 (US$1,455) for air tickets for the mayor and mayoress.
