Renowned author Carl Sandburg was captivated throughout his lifetime by the turbulent energy and natural beauty of Lake Michigan. The vivid remembrances found in his writings reveal a deep fondness for the lake and its many seasons. From 1928 until 1945, Carl Sandburg and his family, which included three daughters, called Michigan home and found deep contentment on the lakeshore.
