LEOMINSTER - A defective electrical outlet caused the two-alarm fire that swept through a three-story tenement building at 5 South St., off Central Street (Route 12) yesterday morning.

Deputy Fire Chief William Ashton of the Leominster Fire Department fire prevention bureau said the fire originated in an outlet in a third-floor bedroom.
