4.1 Structure of the Asset Accounts
The SEEA asset accounts address the depletion and degradation of natural resources. They build on the SNA accumulation accounts, which track the value of assets over time. The SNA defines assets using two criteria: they must be owned, and their owners must derive economic benefit from holding or using them.
