Cuneiform inscriptions on metal surfaces, now entirely hidden by corrosion, have been found through an X-ray study of bronze plates from the Upper Anzaf Fortress of the 1st millennium B.C. in Turkey. A curving line of cuneiform carrying the name of King Ispuini was found on a bronze plate. They are the first fragments from a scientific excavation to reveal cuneiform scripts from the time of King Ispuini.
