On April 19, the staff at Ann Lee Home was officially told that our facility was closing its doors by the end of June 2008.
Ann Lee Home is closing not because the building is too old; it is not closing because the care that the staff provides is not what it should be. Like many other nursing homes and hospitals in New York state, Ann Lee Home will be closing because the Berger Commission has made it a law. They are forcing Ann Lee Home and many other facilities to close not because the facilities want or need to, but because New York state says they have to.
