LEXINGTON -- Preston Knowles scored Clark County's first four points in overtime during a 77-71 victory against Christian County in the first round of the Sweet 16 boys' state basketball tournament on Thursday.

Knowles led the Cardinals with 24 points while Tristan Jones added 18 for the 10th Region champions.

Robert Hatton made one of two free throws for Clark County (26-7), Mike Dillard added two more and Jones made two free throws with a second left as the Cardinals outscored the Colonels 9-3 in overtime.
