HARDWICK - Hardwick landfill owner Casella Waste Systems announced yesterday it has decided to end its long fight to rezone and expand the landfill and will permanently close and cap the controversial dump.
The landfill was closed under town order in February because the trash site is on residentially zoned land, where landfills are prohibited.
The company's action is noted in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, dated May 3, and signed by Richard A. Norris, Casella's senior vice president and chief financial ...
