Angolan author Jose Eduardo Agualusa has been named as the winner of The GBP10,000 Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, an award which recognises literature in translation.
The prize is supported by Arts Council England and Champagne Taittinger.
The award was reportedly made for Agualusa's sixth novel entitled The Book of Chameleons.
