Apr. 29--John Auld plays a royal role at Renaissance Festival

When John Auld walks down a certain street in Muskogee at a certain time of year, all eyes are on him.

Even among a park filled with 16th-century English denizens, people seek out his gold and purple raiment for a moment of the king's favor.

It's very humbling to play king, King Henry VIII to be exact, but even after playing the part in the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival for nine years, Auld isn't letting the attention go to his ego or noble brow.
