SPENCER - The state Department of Environment Protection said yesterday, a day after excess lye was released into the water system, that residents can use town water again, but only if they boil it after flushing out water pipes.
Town Administrator Carter Terenzini made the announcement yesterday afternoon.
He said he hoped the boil order would be lifted in its entirety by tomorrow
morning.
