Synopsis: Gallup World Poll data highlight the stark disparities that have evolved between the two populations sharing the island of Hispaniola. Almost three in four Haitians (73%) say they have gone hungry at times in the past year, compared to 36% of Dominicans. Thirty percent of Haitians say they have been assaulted in the past year, compared to just 11% of Dominicans.
