Apr. 22--The Israel Land Administration (ILA) will market land for 24,990 housing units during 2007, 30 percent more land than in 2006, when it marketed land for 17,200 housing units. The increase is because of the release of rezoned land at kibbutzim and moshavim.

The ILA marketed land for 25,339 housing units in 2005 and for 23,187 housing units in 2004. The Ministry of Housing and Construction estimates that the ILA needs to market land for more than 30,000 housing units a year, and that the shortfall in marketing land has caused a shortage and ...
