DNA experts Eric S. Lander of MIT and Bruce Budowle of the FBI wrote in the Oct 27, 1994 issue of Nature that they saw no reason not to have full use of DNA evidence in court. Lander had been an opponent of DNA evidence and Budowle a proponent. The two men reconcile opinions on two key issues in the article: accounting for the error rate of lab personnel and calculating the chance that another person's matches the source of the evidence.
