Hawthorne arts teacher Martha Watkins dies.

Apr. 13--Martha Watkins, a Hawthorne Elementary School music, speech and drama director, died Tuesday. She was 58.

A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Vernon AME Church under the direction of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Home.

Watkins was born Nov. 23, 1948, in Magnolia, Ark.

She moved to Tulsa and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for years before going back to school.

She attended Tulsa Junior College and received her bachelor's and master's degrees at Langston University and the University of Oklahoma.
