Muhlenberg after-school center opens: The program at Faith Evangelical Congregational Church is only the second Olivet Boys and Girls Club center outside the city.

Apr. 9--William Althouse and Adam Anderson hunkered down at a chessboard in the basement of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church in Muhlenberg Township.

The boys, both students at Muhlenberg Middle School, were challenging their intellect with chess and checkers at a new after-school program run by the Olivet Boys and Girls Club.

The sixth-graders said they'd probably be home playing video games if they weren't at the center.

"This is just something to do instead of going home," said Anderson, 12.
