SPRING is well and truly here. There is frogspawn in the pond, I saw two butterflies, a yellow brimstone and a red admiral, last week - and now a pair of magpies are nesting in my garden.
They are beautiful birds and instantly recognisable; at first they appear to be simply black and white, but when the sun catches their feathers the black shines with a beautiful metallic blue sheen.
