Apr. 3--Red Shift Internet and Computer Services is the largest local internet service provider in Monterey County -- and Monday it got bigger.

Karl Van Lear, president of Red Shift, announced that the company has acquired Montereybay.com, a local Internet service provider.

Specific purchase terms were not disclosed publicly. Van Lear said the company is currently in the process of assimilating all of Montereybay.com's dialup, DSL, T1 and hosting customers. Van Lear said operators of Montereybay.com approached him earlier this year with an offer to sell. "We ...
