Portugal's time as a mighty seafaring nation may be long past, but the country's indelible maritime legacy was recently evoked by a monumental sculpture of a lighthouse featured last fall in the inaugural display of the Ellipse Foundation Contemporary Art Collection in Cascais, a seaside resort about 20 miles west of Lisbon.
