Apr. 1--WATERLOO -- Traffic accidents in the Waterloo metropolitan area cause eight deaths, hundreds of injuries and a significant amount of property damage during an average year.

A new partnership between the city, Iowa Department of Transportation and a private company wants to curb those figures by encouraging safe driving habits.
